| Public spaces are in the discussions again since the architecture of commercial entreprises starts claiming the places for its own. How to combine commercial interests, public needs like transportation in core places of a city and how to give back some of the public space to the citizens? | |

| A look at the classic places in historical city provides a lot of learning material. Places in the cities of Venice Milan or Florence are shaping a concept of space that still works today and lets the inhabiting people be at ease and stay for a while. Or even a longer while. Problems often recognised in new constructed places - or should we call it the space between two commercial units - is suffering the essential needs of a well functioning place. A research project on the place in front of the Bremen Hauptbahnhof, the main train station tries to give proposals to a better atmosphere in one of the most frequented areas of a city. | |
